VILLAGE’s founder and CEO, Mark Deutschmann, recognized Nashville’s “it factor” long before Nashville was deemed one of the hottest places to live in the United States. Visionary Mark Deutschmann founded Village Real Estate Services in 1996 with a small group of agents and a simple mission—to connect our local communities and the people in them.
Early in his career, Mark—known as the “juggling Realtor”—focused on his one-mile radius, the Hillsboro Village/Belmont region, and widened his reach throughout Middle Tennessee. Over the past two decades, VILLAGE has sold thousands of houses and its reach has expanded throughout Nashville and to cities and counties beyond Davidson County that continue to see prolific growth.
To help enhance Nashville’s vibrant emerging neighborhoods and to promote the interface of walkable communities, Mark founded Core Development in 2003. Core has since developed more than 30 projects throughout Nashville’s urban core and has won various awards for its innovative projects.
Mark also received the Community Service award from the Greater Nashville Association of Realtors in 2013 and the Sustainable Tennessee Award from the Tennessee Environmental Council in 2014. He has undergraduate degrees in zoology and Spanish and an MBA in international management.
Mark is the author of One-Mile Radius: Building Community from the Core, which was published in 2017.
Mark and his wife, Sherry, reside in Hillsboro Village.
“Along the way, I realized that to be truly successful in growing any real estate business,
you have to be both a good real estate practitioner and a community builder.”
Mark has undergraduate degrees in Zoology and Spanish and an MBA in International Management.
Mark and his wife, Sherry, live in Hillsboro Village. Sherry Stewart Deutschmann is also an avid entrepreneur, and is the founder of LetterLogic. Mark and Sherry like to walk neighborhoods and greenways, and enjoy traveling. Mark is an avid juggler, collects stamps, and enjoys river kayaking.
